My first week as an Intern

This week during my internship was full of new experiences, learning moments, and a lot of fun. One of my main tasks was helping with checking guests in and out. I really enjoy these moments because I get to meet different people every day and help them start or end their stay in a positive way. It has helped me become more confident in communicating with guests and staying organized during busy moments.

I also learned how to check the pH and chlorine levels in the swimming pool. At first, it seemed a little complicated, but after some practice I started to understand why it is so important for the safety and comfort of the guests. It was interesting to learn more about the technical side of the job.

One of the funniest things I learned this week was driving a golf cart. Driving itself actually went surprisingly well… but parking is still a different story. Let’s just say the golf cart and I are still working on becoming best friends. There were definitely some chaotic moments, lots of laughing, and a few very questionable parking attempts.

Another task I learned was checking the bungalows after the cleaning crew finished cleaning them. I did this together with someone from the maintenance team, who taught me what details to pay attention to and how important quality checks are before new guests arrive.

And of course, one of the best parts of the week was spending time with the little goats we have here. They always make the workday a little more fun and bring a smile to everyone’s face.
