This week at my internship was actually really interesting and I learned a lot of new things. Monday and Tuesday were mostly about getting used to everything at the reception. I spent most of the time checking guests in, answering their questions, and helping them when they needed something. Sometimes guests asked easy questions, but other times I had to think a bit more before answering. It was a good way to get more comfortable speaking to people.
Wednesday and Thursday I had off, which was honestly perfect because I got my scooter license during those days. I was really nervous before the exam, but luckily I passed, so I was super happy about that.
On Friday I worked the late shift from 12:00 until 19:00. We mainly focused on checking guests out because many people were leaving before the weekend. Saturday was probably the hardest day because I learned how to rent out bikes and process them in the system. In the beginning it was confusing, but after some practice it went better. I also answered the phone for the first time and handled my first complaint from an older couple about their accommodation. The man recently had a back operation, so he complained that the bed was too soft for him. They also mentioned that the garden furniture was standing crooked. It was a bit stressful at first, but I think I handled it well.
