A Calm Week with a Little Bit of Panic
This week was overall quite calm, and there wasn’t a lot going on at the park. Because it was so quiet, I had more time to talk with my colleagues, and we had some really fun conversations together. It was nice to have some relaxed moments at work instead of constantly being busy with guests and different tasks.
We also talked about my progress as an intern, which was actually really nice. It gave me a chance to look back at how much I have learned since I started. I feel like I have become more comfortable with the different tasks at the reception and with talking to guests. It was nice to hear what my colleagues thought about my progress as well.
However, the week did have one moment that I definitely did not expect. We had the first “real accident” at the park while I was working there. Someone had cut themselves with glass and came to us asking for help. I honestly panicked a little because I had never had to deal with something like that before. It was quite shocking to suddenly have someone come to the reception needing help because they were actually hurt.
Even though it was stressful, it was also a learning experience. Not every situation at the reception is going to be something I can prepare for, and sometimes I just have to stay calm and figure out what to do. Hopefully, the next accident will be a little less scary for me!
