My 15th week as an intern

This was already the 15th week of my internship, and honestly, I don’t have a huge amount to say about this week. It was pretty quiet and not very busy, which made it a little boring at times. Nothing particularly crazy happened, so compared to some of my previous weeks, there isn’t exactly a dramatic story to tell!

Even though this week was quiet, my internship has been feeling pretty tiring lately. Animation has been taking up quite a lot of my energy. I don’t really love doing animation, and although there are definitely fun moments, it can be pretty exhausting to spend so much time keeping the kids entertained and involved. By the end of the day, I’m usually completely ready to go home.

Luckily, one of the best parts of my internship is my colleagues. I really like everyone I work with, and I’m genuinely very happy with the people around me. We joke around, have funny conversations and make even the quieter days more enjoyable. Having colleagues that I get along with so well definitely makes a big difference.

The hardest part for me is still dealing with the guests. This week, there were quite a few guests who were mean or made unpleasant comments. Unfortunately, I have a habit of taking those comments home with me. Even when I know I shouldn’t, I keep thinking about what they said and wondering if I could have handled things differently. It takes up a lot of energy, even when my shift has already ended.

Thankfully, the fun I have with my colleagues balances out a lot of the harder parts. The guests can definitely be stressful, and the internship can be tiring, but having people around that I genuinely enjoy working with makes everything a lot easier.

So, week 15 may have been quiet and honestly a little boring, but it still made me realise how important the people you work with are. They can really make even the most exhausting days a little better.
